Brief
Worship

Concept
After an in-depth investigation into worship as an overview and an ancient reference to the classical elements of fire, water, wind and earth. I was facinated by the modern elemental worship of the diamond since it is fundamentally carbon; the fourth most abundant element.

Site
Located on a large area of grassland clusterested with trees and at a steep angle of 20 degrees. I rationalised the site by levelling it out in different layers with attention to existing indigenous trees. The proposal linked together surrounding parks and pulled people away from polluted roads.

Design
The building is a respresentation of the forming of a diamond from raw carbon to clear diamond. The manufacturing process is located on the lower ground floor which hints to the origins of a natural diamond. The retail area is on the ground floor with an educational seminar space, staff counter and back of house such as secuirty. This was designed with a fictional client - CARAT* Synthetic Diamond Manufacturers and Retailers
