Public Virtuality

This project is an exploration into emergent social fractures found within public places. Virtual places are the most intimate form of space and when found within public places, the pedestrians awareness shifts towards their induced space causing a conflict between public real places and intimate virtual places.

Re•al•i•ty; Actually existing.
Vir•tu•al•i•ty; Nearly existing, induced, simulated.

This is a global issue, therefore this project is not a solution but an architectural response to regenerate Lincoln's public places right from it's heart. The idea is to create a shared/public, virtual experience. As pedestrians descend through the project they are travelling through layers of virtuality. Physically further into the earth and virtually further into their minds, sharing a variety of remote virtual events.
